Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH, Dr Dragan Čović, met in Zagreb with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia

"The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Dr Dragan Čović, and Member of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH, Darijana Filipović, held a working meeting today in Zagreb with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković. The officials discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, the country’s European path and reform progress, the protection of the interests and rights of the Croat people in BiH, as well as cooperation and the implementation of strategic projects. 

On this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH, Dr Dragan Čović, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković for his continued support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration, as well as for his support in protecting the rights and advancing the interests of the Croat people in BiH. He particularly emphasised the importance of the Government of the Republic of Croatia’s support for the development and functioning of the University of Mostar, as well as for all current and forthcoming strategic projects. 

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković reaffirmed the Croatian Government’s strong commitment to the full protection of the rights of Croats as a constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to the country’s European path. He underscored the Government’s support for the implementation of strategic projects benefiting the Croat people in BiH, particularly in the fields of education, culture, economy, and infrastructure. 

Finally, the officials expressed their satisfaction with the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, as well as their unwavering commitment to further strengthening successful cooperation for the benefit of the Croat people, a European Bosnia and Herzegovina, and bilateral relations."  (Statement from the Office of the Speaker of the House of Peoples, Dr Dragan Čović)
