Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Zvizdić, held a series of meetings in Türkiye

„Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Zvizdić, held separate meetings in Türkiye with the Governor of Konya, Ibrahim Akin, the Mayor of Konya, Uğur İbrahim Altay, the President of the Konya Chamber of Commerce, Selçuk Öztürk, and the Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Konya, Ercan Uslu.
During the discussions, it was confirmed that relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye are at the highest level, with mutual confidence that such a level of cooperation will be maintained in the future.
Speaker Zvizdić proposed that the Konya Region/City be a partner of this year’s international economic fair in Tešanj. The hosts in Konya welcomed this initiative, recognising that participation in the fair, the presentation of potential opportunities, and business collaboration could open new opportunities for economic cooperation, boost bilateral trade, and given Konya’s industrial and investment capacities, become one of pillars for enhancement of economic ties between the two cities and countries.
The discussions also included the establishment of a direct Sarajevo–Konya flight route, which was recognised as a means to facilitate faster connectivity between the two cities, enhance tourism, promote business and cultural exchanges, and contribute to economic growth.
To further advance cooperation, Speaker Zvizdić proposed that Sarajevo and Konya enhance their collaboration through concrete projects across various sectors, including culture, education, economy, and tourism.
The interlocutors agreed that there is significant potential for strengthening trade and economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, the automotive industry, the metal industry, infrastructure, energy, tourism, and education.
At the conclusion of the meetings, Speaker Zvizdić expressed his gratitude for the continuous support provided to Sarajevo, particularly in the areas of municipal infrastructure, education, and culture, as well as for Türkiye’s contribution to commemorating the life and legacy of the first President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the late Alija Izetbegović.
