Members of the Joint Collegium of Both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Met with the President of the Czech Republic

Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) met today with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, who is on a two-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting, it was mutually agreed that the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic are friendly and free of outstanding issues. This meeting also served as an opportunity for the members of the Joint Collegium to express their gratitude to the distinguished guest for all that the Czech Republic has done for Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in supporting its path towards full membership in the European Union.

President Pavel emphasised his country’s commitment to EU enlargement, noting that leaving the Western Balkan states outside the European Union would benefit no one. He also offered wholehearted assistance from the Czech Republic, a country that has itself undertaken the path to EU membership, implemented numerous reforms, and gained valuable lessons along the way. He stated that the Czech Republic is very willing to share its experiences with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During today’s discussion, it was also noted with great satisfaction that President Pavel is accompanied by a significant delegation of Czech business representatives. These representatives will participate in an open business forum with BiH entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities for expanding economic cooperation, for which, it was noted, there are excellent prospects.  (End)
