Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Dragan Čović, met with the EU Ambassador Special and EU Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina

“Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Dragan Čović, held a meeting today at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH with the European Union (EU) Ambassador and EU Special Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federation of BiH, the European path, reform laws, and political dialogue, as well as the fulfilment of priorities on the path towards the EU.

On this occasion, Dr Čović emphasised the importance of stable and constructive political dialogue, as well as the need for the efficient and uninterrupted functioning of institutions. He particularly highlighted the intensification of cooperation across all levels of government to achieve the necessary reform advancements. The discussion also underscored the significance of the functioning and progress of the Federation of BiH, with key topics addressed, including the urgent adoption of the budget. 

Additionally, the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s further progress towards the EU and the need to initiate a negotiation process were highlighted, with the EU expressing its readiness to support all efforts aimed at accelerating BiH's European integration. The officials expressed confidence that joint efforts are key to achieving success. They also conveyed satisfaction with the cooperation and voiced expectations for the swift accomplishment of the necessary progress.
