Members of the Joint Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) met with the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara; the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Dr. Nikola Špirić; Delegate Marina Pendeš, on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Peoples, Dr. Dragan Čović; MP Nihad Omerović, on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Denis Zvizdić; and MP Sanja Vulić, on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nebojša Radmanović, met today with the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, who is visiting our country on an official visit with his associates.

During the meeting, it was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Armenia share a similar position on a global scale and have an identical key foreign policy objective: full membership in the European Union. The political cooperation between the two countries was jointly assessed as very good, although it was emphasised that there is significant room for further improvement. In particular, the need for a stronger connection between the parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Armenia and their working bodies was highlighted, in order to more actively exchange experiences on the European path.

It was mentioned that economic cooperation does not reflect the good political relations between the two countries, with foreign trade exchange being assessed as very modest, despite both Armenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina having comparative advantages that open up opportunities for much stronger connections. Therefore, it was collectively concluded that, in the coming period, there should be more political effort to create an environment for more active communication among businessmen, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, culture, sport, medicine, and other areas.
