The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, talked with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina

"The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH), Marinko Čavara, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georg Diwald. They discussed important  issues for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria.

During the meeting, Čavara and Diwald highlighted the high quality of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria so far, and discussed further strengthening of these relations in the political, economic, and cultural contexts.

The main topics of discussion were Bosnia and Herzegovina's European and NATO integration paths, as well as the need for the adoption of four laws that are crucial for the country's progress in the integration process. Ambassador Diwald emphasized that Austria remains a strong advocate of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective and supports its EU membership alongside other Western Balkan countries.

Diwald also emphasized the importance of establishing stronger cooperation between the PABiH and the Austrian Parliament to enable the exchange of experiences in the legislative process, which would be a benefit to the strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina's institutional capacities, particularly in the context of European integration.

Čavara highlighted that full EU membership for Bosnia and Herzegovina is a strategic goal for the country and that it has no alternative. He stated that he considers Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU membership crucial for achieving long-term stability and prosperity, as well as for preserving the equality of all peoples and citizens in the country.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope that through joint efforts and constructive dialogue, progress would be made in adopting the necessary reforms, which would pave the way for Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in the EU and NATO." (Press release from the Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Marinko Čavara)
