The Chairman of the Caucus of SDP in the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Saša Magazinović, received in an introductory visit the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Chairman of the Caucus of SDP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saša Magazinović, received today in an introductory visit the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jana K. Lolić Šindelkova.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, which were mutually assessed as friendly. In this regard, Magazinović particularly thanked the Czech Republic for its continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European integration process.
The conversation also placed special emphasis on the latest European Commission progress report on Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the next steps our country should take in its EU accession process.
Magazinović assessed that, after the local elections, there is no longer any space or justification for further delays on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path. He also noted that the latest European Commission report clearly highlights the significant lack of institutional capacities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to fight corruption, particularly the inefficiency and political control over the judiciary, which fails to deliver adequate results in combating crime and corruption, especially those with political backgrounds. In this regard, Magazinović emphasized that a stronger fight against corruption would result in progress in many other areas on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path to EU membership.
The discussion also covered the activities of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as well as the need to implement the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is also reflected in the European Commission’s report.
