Chair of the Friendship Group of the PABiH for North and South America, Australia, Oceania, and Japan, Mr Želimir Nešković, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to BiH

Chair of the Friendship Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) for North and South America, Australia, Oceania, and Japan, Mr Želimir Nešković, met today with the Budapest-based Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Guillermo Vazquez Moreno.

During the meeting, it was mutually agreed that the relations between the two countries are good and friendly, but that there is significant room for enhancing cooperation in various fields.

Information was exchanged regarding cooperation agreements between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as a trade agreement and a health sector agreement, which, as noted, are in the final stages of drafting and conclusion. In this context, the possibility of establishing contacts and cooperation in the field of higher education was also mentioned, including student exchanges and internships in scientific research, particularly in medicine and other scientific disciplines.

Special attention was given to the need for intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation through exchanges of parliamentary friendship groups' visits and other forms of joint engagement. It was assessed that strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation will open the door to deepening bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as improving economic and foreign trade exchanges between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cuba.
