"To work on strengthening the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo“

Chair of the SDP MPs' Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Saša Magazinović, met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the seat of the Kosovo Government in Pristina.

The interlocutors discussed membership in the Council of Europe, and in this context Magazinović reiterated his strong support for Kosovo's accession to the large family of member states of the Council of Europe, stressing that, among other things, all citizens of Kosovo deserve access to the European Court of Human Rights.

Speaking about the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process, Kurti and Magazinović assessed that this initiative is extremely useful for the region, through the creation of mechanisms for simplified cooperation and mobility of citizens. They expressed the hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon ratify the agreement on movement with identity cards in the region, after all other countries in the region have done so. The ratification of the agreement on the recognition of higher education diplomas and qualifications and professional qualifications for doctors of medicine, doctors of dentistry and architects was welcomed.

Kurti and Magazinović agreed that the common future of the region is in the European Union, and they emphasized that there is significant room for cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans in the accession process, which includes the exchange of experiences and good practices, mutual support and a common commitment to the European future of the countries of the region.

When it comes to the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, Magazinović and Kurti believe that it is necessary to work on strengthening relations for the benefit of the citizens of both countries, regardless of the current position on the issue of recognition. (end)
