Members of the Joint Collegium of both Houses of the PABiH received Ambassador Johann Sattler during his farewell visit

Members of the Joint Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina received Ambassador Johann Sattler today during his farewell visit. Ambassador Sattler will soon be stepping down from his role as Head of the Delegation and Special Representative of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During a cordial discussion, the members of the Joint Collegium thanked Ambassador Sattler for all he has done for our country over the past few years. They highlighted the most notable achievements, including the granting of candidate status for European Union membership to Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by the European Commission's recommendation to open accession negotiations with our country. It was emphasized that Mr. Sattler has not only been the EU Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina but also a successful ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union, leading to much more intensive and substantive diplomatic communication between our country and the highest EU officials.

Ambassador Sattler highlighted that the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has played a crucial role in all significant steps taken over the past five years, without which progress would not have been possible. At the same time, he emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina faces a challenging path towards meeting the requirements for full membership in the European Union, but the experiences he has witnessed demonstrate that, even within the complex political framework of our country, significant results can be achieved through well-conceived and collaborative efforts.

The members of the Joint Collegium wished the Ambassador Sattler success in his new role as the EU Ambassador to Montenegro and in his future political endeavors. (end).
