Meeting between the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Dragan Čović, and the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, Miroslav Jenča

“The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Dragan Čović, met today with the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations for Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas in the Department for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenča.

During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special emphasis on the country's progress towards European Union membership. Dr. Čović shared his perspective on the current political challenges and underscored the importance of stability and progress on the European path.

Mr. Jenča highlighted the importance of reconciliation, trust, and mutual understanding among political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed the need to enhance constructive dialogue to ensure a stable and prosperous future for all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The discussions also covered the future cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Nations in areas of common interest. The interlocutors agreed that the continuation of UN support is essential for the further development of BiH, particularly in strengthening institutions, promoting human rights, and encouraging socio-economic development. They emphasized the importance of continuous progress and lasting peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
