Members of the Friendship Group for Central and Eastern Europe of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia

The Chairman of the Friendship Group for Central and Eastern Europe of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Sredoje Nović, and the member of the Friendship Group Amor Mašović met today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan.

During the open discussion, the good and friendly relations between the two countries were mutually emphasized, and it was noted that there is significant potential for enhancing co-operation in many areas, especially in agriculture, construction, tourism, infrastructure development, energy, and in the high-tech sector.

The interlocutors exchanged information about the current political situation in the two countries, as well as about reform processes and geopolitical challenges. They discussed the commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Armenia to join the European Union, as well as the importance of strengthening democratic institutions and fighting corruption more energetically.

There was mutual agreement that peace and stability-building should be key priorities and strategic goals of both countries, and that political disagreements, both domestically and with neighbouring countries, should be resolved exclusively through constructive dialogue and compromise.

The participants of the meeting also agreed that inter-parliamentary co-operation can be the foundation for broader co-operation between the two countries, and the working parliamentary bodies should intensify co-operation in the future.

Non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Prague, Ashot Hovakimian also attended today's meeting. (end)
