Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Boško Šiljegović, attended the Annual Mine Action Analysis in Bihać

The Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Boško Šiljegović, attended the Annual Mine Action Analysis and Mine Action Review for 2023, organized by the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH in Bihać.

In addition to representatives from the Ministry of Defense of BiH, the Armed Forces of BiH, and the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH, representatives from diplomatic and military-diplomatic corps in Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives from the institutions of the Una-Sana Canton, and representatives from the City of Bihać were also present.

As presented in the Annual Analysis, during 2023, an area of 2,841,760 square meters was cleared of mines, achieving 80.19% of the established plan.

It was highlighted that the Armed Forces of BiH will continue mine action in the upcoming period, focusing on 25 demining projects in 18 municipalities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming to clear 1,447,110 square meters.

The Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH engaged in discussions with professional military personnel and members of the demining battalion, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Defense of BiH, the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, the Operational Command, the Support Command of the Armed Forces of BiH, and representatives from Mine action organizations operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH also had a meeting and discussion with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Urlike Hartmann, informing her about the work of the institution of the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH, as well as the results of the long-standing cooperation with the Commission for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Austria.
