Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Božo Ljubić met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland


The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Božo Ljubić met in Strasbourg with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Mr. Eero Heinäluoma. The meeting took place at the sidelines of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Dr. Ljubić presented the state of affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and communicated the dedication of the political leaders to guide BiH towards European Union membership. He, however, emphasized that many issues are yet to be resolved in order to make a genuine step towards application for the EU, which include the necessary constitutional changes aiming at removing citizen discrimination.

He also pleaded for understanding of the current impediments that jeopardize the stability and functionality of the institutions of BiH, and stressed his belief that these impediments would be resolved in a way that would soon enable BiH to join the family of European States.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Mr. Eero Heinäluoma expressed the willingness of Finland to assist BiH on its way towards EU membership. (end)
