The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Dragan Čović during a meeting with the Delegation of Senate of the Republic of France emphasized that it is necessary to start the process of constitutional reforms, which should enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a functional state.
“Crisis in our country is a problem, but it is also an opportunity during which the domestic representatives of the government should take a responsibility and try to find a solution for the establishment of the structure which would be based on the principle of the absolute equality of the peoples and citizens,” emphasized Dr. Čović. He said that he believes in the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also that the current internal structure of the state makes its European path harder to achieve.
The members of the Delegation of the Senate of the Republic of France, headed by the Chair of the Friendship Group for the Western Balkans, Jean Pierr Michel, and the Deputy of the Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Billout Michel, emphasized that for the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU, the active role and agreement of domestic actors is essential.
