Chair of the Joint Committee for Defence and Security of BiH, Jasmin Imamović, attended the celebration of the Day of the Border Police of BiH

The Chair of the Joint Commission for Defence and Security of BiH, Jasmin Imamović, attended today ceremony on the occasion of the Day of BiH Border Police.

The 23rd anniversary of the formation of the Border Police of BiH as the first police agency within the Ministry of Security of BiH was marked at a ceremony hosted by the Director of the BiH Border Police Mirko Kuprešaković and his associates.

Director Kuprešaković called on the representatives of the legislative and executive authorities to help the BiH Border Police to be filled with new police officers and to work as much as possible on modernization and equipping them with modern equipment that can respond to the new security challenges that are evident both on the western and eastern borders of BiH, and which primarily relates to problems with illegal migrants.

The participants of the ceremony were greeted by the Chair of the BiH Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, and the Minister of Security, Nenad Nešić.

Chairman Imamović had the opportunity to meet the directors of police agencies from the Ministry of Security of BiH and to familiarize them with the objectives of the review conference on the topic: "Legislative framework, current situation and plans of BiH institutions in the field of defence and security", which is organized on June 8, 2023 by the Joint Committee for Defence and Security of BiH in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to BiH.
