Speaker of the PABiH House of Representatives Dr Denis Zvizdić met with the Minister of State for Europe and Climate at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office
"The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Denis Zvizdić, met today with the Minister of State for Europe and Climate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Anna Lührmann. They discussed the economic and political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaker Zvizdić expressed gratitude for the support provided by Germany during the process of obtaining candidate status for EU membership - and for the support towards NATO integration. He also highlighted the significance of Germany's return to the EUFOR Althea mission.
Minister Lührmann emphasised that BiH's future lies in the European Union and that Germany is interested in the situation in the Western Balkans region. She stressed the importance of continuing the reform process and fulfilling the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, as well as implementing necessary economic reforms. Minister Lührmann reiterated Germany's view of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a unified, sovereign, multi-ethnic, and multi-confessional state and stated that Germany will continue to support BiH on its path towards EU integration. She emphasized that BiH is at the heart of Europe and belongs to the European Union, and the accession process should be realized.
