Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Božo Ljubić spoke with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

"Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Božo Ljubić met today the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK), Mr. Nigel Casey, at his request.
Ambassador Casey conveyed the opinion of his government regarding relations and future of the UK in the future of the European Union (EU), and expressed his firm belief that Bosnia and Herzegovina should have its own place in the community of states. He expressed the hope that BiH authorities will fulfil the remaining two conditions in order to submit the application for the candidate status and that it would be very good if they could be fulfilled even this spring so that this and the next year BiH would again become the focus of EU's interest. He also expressed the understanding for the current priority, the reconstruction of the FBiH government.

Dr. Ljubić agreed that it is exceptionally important for BiH to be granted the candidate status, particularly for achievement of European standards which will practically bring BiH closer to the EU and he asked of the UK for even more active mediation approach so that BiH would make necessary steps as fast as possible.

Dr. Ljubić informed the interlocutor about his views and about steps taken by the new parliamentary majority in the Federation of BiH in order to reconstruct the government, accentuating the necessity to harmonize the parliamentary majority with the executive power. He added that he expects all actors to act responsibly and not to obstruct this process which is in the interest of citizens and the state of BiH", it was reported from the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Božo Ljubić.
