Representatives of the BiH PA participate in the work of the 10th Conference of the Parliamentary network of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Baku

Mladen Ivanić, Delegate in the House of Peoples, Anto Domazet, Representative in the House of Representatives, and Representatives Ismeta Dervoz and Milica Marković, participate in the 10th Annual Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Baku and devoted to the greater inclusion of Parliamentarians in the decision-making process in the World Bank and IMF.

The Conference has two dominant themes: firstly, the public’s role in the use of resources that the World Bank and the IMF give to the poor; secondly, global climate change. In the context of the first theme it is ascertained that since poor countries, in which approximately a billion and half citizens live, are unstable and subjected to conflicts whereby the possibility of corrupt abuse increases, it is necessary to exchange opinions on how to ensure that these resources be used in the right way.

According to the assessment of the World Bank, climate change will increase average global temperature by four degrees by the end of the century, which is why the second main theme of the Conference is the problematic question on how Parliamentarians could influence energy use, emphasize natural sources of energy, and confront climate change.
