Members of the BiH PA Joint Committee on Human Rights, Rights of Children, Youth, Immigration, Refugees, Asylum and Ethics stayed at German Council on Foreign Relations

With an exchange of views on the concept of transitional justice and the various transitional justice mechanisms that are used in conflict situations, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) kicked off the study visit of members of the Joint Committee on Human Rights, Rights of Children, Youth, Immigration, Refugees, Asylum and Ethics of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) to the Parliament of Germany.

DGAP experts informed the BiH PA delegation – which consisted of Chairman Aleksandra Pandurević, Deputy Chairperson Nermin Kapetanović and members of the Joint Committee Nermin Ćemalović, Senad Šepić, Halid Genjac and Mladen Ivanić – about basic individual efforts in the creation of transitional justice.
DGAP expert Dr. Annette Weinke offered an overview of experiences in which the Federal Republic of Germany was active in this regard, with particular emphasis on the various initiatives taken since 1945.

Through the study visit, members of the BiH PA Joint Committee grew acquainted with Germany’s implementation of transitional justice, and they thereby expanded their knowledge regarding the application and the overall process of transitional justice. (End)
