Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Trade and Customs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Šemsudin Mehmedović, and Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the PABiH House of Representatives and a member of the PABiH Delegation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Predrag Kožul, spoke today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to BiH based in Budapest, Maximiliano Gregorio-Cernadas.
At a meeting that preceded the Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organization (WTO), which will be jointly organized by the IPU and the European Parliament at the beginning of December in Buenos Aires, it was emphasized that the participation of the PABiH Delegation in that great event would be an opportunity to establish contacts with representatives of the Argentine Congress and Government with the aim to improve the political and economic co-operation of the two friendly countries.
Talking about the current situation in Argentina, Ambassador Cernadas pointed out that the Argentine Government has paid considerable attention to raising the level of economic cooperation with European countries in recent years, as well as attracting foreign investments.
It has been jointly noted that there is a lot of room for raising the level of trade between BiH and Argentine, as well as for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and tourism.
The interlocutors agreed that our country should be significantly more represented in the countries of South America, which record continuous economic growth and development. In this regard, they all expressed hope that BiH will reopen the embassy in Buenos Aires, which was closed ten years ago. (End)
