Members of the Collegiums of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH received the Head of OSCE Mission to BiH in the inaugural visit
Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) Bariša Čolak, Deputy Speaker, Safet Softić and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH Šefik Džaferović received today in the inaugural visit the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Ambassador Bruce Berton.
Ambassador Berton was particularly interested in issues of amending the Election Law of BiH, appealing to key political actors to open dialogue on this issue and stressing that international officials would support constructive proposals that would lead to solutions in accordance with the judgments of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the European Court of Human Rights.
Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina was interested in the outcome of the parliamentary procedure for the Law on parliamentary oversight, which is currently in the House of Representatives Parliamentary Assembly, as well as on the new Draft Law on conflict of interest, which should soon put into the parliamentary procedure.
Congratulating Ambassador Berton appointment to the position of the Head of OSCE Mission to BiH, members of the Collegiums of the two Houses of the PA BiH thanked for the longstanding support that the OSCE Mission has provided to a significant number of projects that have enhanced and enriched the work of the PA BiH.
Emphasizing the fact that the work of the OSCE Mission to BiH contributes to the stabilization of political opportunities in our country, the members of the Collegiums of both PA BiH Houses expressed the hope that the OSCE Mission to BiH will continue to work closely with the highest legislative institution in the country.
