Collegium of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke with parliamentarians from Jordan

 
Deputy Speakers of the House of Representatives, Dr. Božo Ljubić and Dr. Denis Bećirović and the Chair of the Bosniak People’s Caucus in the House of Peoples, Mr. Halid Genjac, spoke today with Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of Jordan, who are paying an official visit to our country.

The Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of Jordan, Dr. Hazem Qashou, stated that parliamentarians from Jordan and King Abdullah of Jordan believed that, in spite of the fact that BiH is going through difficulties after a natural disaster, it was important to come to BiH to gain insight into the scale and size of suffering, and to express their willingness to help a friend in need.

The hosts emphasized that the full scale and size of the catastrophic flood damage is still being assessed. It is obvious that the damage will be too heavy a burden for BiH, and it will only overcome this situation with international community support.

It was concluded that BiH and Jordan have very good relations, but that co-operation in the economic field could be improved. Today, it was noted that BiH could represent a ''door'' between Jordan and Europe, while Jordan could have a similar role between BiH and the Arab-Islamic world. (end)
