Members of the Delegation of the BiH PA, Drago Kalabić, Nermina Ćemalović and Mato Franjičević, at the 131st PA IPU session in Geneva

 
Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) of Parliamentary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (PS IPU), Chairperson Drago Kalabić and his deputies, Nermina Ćemalović and Mato Franjičević, represented the BiH PA at the 131st session of the PA IPU, which was held from 12th to 17th October in Geneva.

According to the organizers, the central debate during the seven-day session of the oldest and largest international parliamentary organizations in the world will be dedicated to achieving gender equality and ending violence against women. Parliamentarians from more than 155 countries will, as announced, also discuss other current issues at the global level, such as cyber - warfare, water management, corporate influence on decision-making at the United Nations, and developing an integrated strategy to combat narcotics trafficking.

It is expected that the PA IPU will adopt a resolution on international law relating to national sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of States.


On the sidelines of the 131st session of the PA IPU, the first global conference of young parliamentarians of the member states of the IPU workshop on good practices in nuclear disarmament policy was held, as well as an informative seminar on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against women

During this session in Geneva, the PA IPU will elect a new president. For this position candidacies were submitted from Australia, Bangladesh and Indonesia. (End)
