Meeting of the Chairperson of the House of Representatives, Šefik Džaferović, with the Ambassador of Romania in BiH

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Romania have very good mutual political relations however, there is space to improve economic co-operation between the two countries. This was emphasized during today's meeting between the Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, and the Ambassador of Romania in BiH, Filip Teodorescu.

Emphasizing the full support of Romania for BiH's path towards the European Union and NATO, Ambassador Teodorescu said that the British – German initiative, which has grown into an EU initiative, clearly shows that the EU countries have full interest in BiH exiting developmental stagnation and that our country should definitely make the most of this positive atmosphere.

Chairperson Džaferović agreed with this assessment and expressed the hope that they will overcome the challenges of the BiH Presidency's Joint Statement and that this should soon be on the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH's agenda. He supported this with the claim that the issue of EU integration is not a matter for government and the opposition, but for all political forces and every BiH citizen as the benefits of such direction and the damages incurred by delays on the path to the EU are indivisible.
