Members of the Committees and the Friendship Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH spoke with members of the Parliament of Australia

 
Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH PA), the Joint Committee on Human Rights and the Friendship Group for North and South America, Australia, Oceania and Japan spoke today with a member of the Parliament of Australia, Michael Danby about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

The members of the working bodies of the BH Parliamentary Assembly [BJ1] informed the MP of the Parliament of Australia that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in a complex political situation, especially regarding its Euro-Atlantic path, and that it is important that the country overcomes obstacles as soon as possible and delivers a credible application for membership of the European Union (EU).

The MP of the Australian Parliament, Mr. Michael Danby, informed the MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH that the Australian Parliament adopted a resolution on the Srebrenica genocide and expressed hope that all political actors in BiH will work together on the welfare and prosperity of the country.

Danby also found that the presence of a significant diaspora from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Australia can help strengthen relations between the two countries, especially in political, economic and cultural spheres.

Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH invited the delegation of the Parliament of Australia to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina. (End)
