The Members of the Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey

“The overall help of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina is unquestionable and we will help to you to integrate toward the EU path together with the Balkan region. It is necessary to think about the Balkans as a part of the European Union that will become its important part, and thanks to this integration it will be able to guarantee the durable stability and security of the region”, emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu during a meeting with members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Minister Davutoglu added, “The Republic of Turkey supports Bosnia and Herzegovina as the most beautiful model of a joint life, and as your true friend we want it to sustain and to strengthen.”

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Milorad Živković expressed gratitude for the help which the Republic of Turkey provided and said that any unconditional economic and financial help to Bosnia and Herzegovina is welcomed. “We encourage the ones who want to invest, but without setting up political conditions,” emphasized Speaker Živković and added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is open for such co-operation.

Minister Davutoglu emphasized the importance of the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO; or more precisely the implementation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP) which should be a guarantee for peace and security. Accordingly, the doors would be open for the foreign investment as security is one of the most important conditions for foreign capital, said Davutoglu.
During the meeting of the delegations, the importance of the support of the Republic of Turkey for the Dayton Peace Agreement was emphasized. Also, they spoke about projects of inducement for the BiH economy; the stimulation of small and medium sized entrepreneurships, especially in the field of agriculture. In this way, Bosnia and Herzegovina could launch its products on the foreign market. On the other hand, the realization of these projects through banks could contribute to the opening of new job positions on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. (end)
