The Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in an official visit to Canada

A Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, consisting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Milorad Živković, the Deputy Speaker, Denis Bećirović, the Chair of the Friendship Group of BiH PA with Canada, Drago Kalabić, and the Delegate of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA, Martin Raguž, in a reciprocal bilateral visit to the Parliament of Canada, met with the President of the House of Representatives, Andrew Sheer, and the President of the Senate of Canada, Noel Kinsella.

During these meetings, hope was expressed that relations between our parliaments can and should be improved, which would certainly contribute to the ratification of agreements important to the BiH diaspora in Canada, particularly with reference to Social Security Agreements, the Agreement on Youth, as well as other documents that would allow for a better, a safer and more prosperous future.

The Speaker and members of the BiH Delegation used this opportunity to thank Canada for the assistance provided to the citizens and the state of BiH with regard to the participation of their military forces in peacekeeping operations and the development of democratic processes in our country.

During the meeting with the presidents of the Houses of the Parliament of Canada, the Commission for National Defense, the Commission for Foreign Relations and International Development, and other representatives of the Parliament of Canada, the BiH delegation expressed the hope that Canada will support the European integration process and NATO membership for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
