The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chair of the Friendship Group for Africa and the Middle East Countries, Božo Ljubić spoke with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

"All of us, members of a Friendship Group for Africa and the Middle East Countries, we are part of it through personal choice, however, my motive for this was to familiarize myself with the culture and peoples from this group of countries. Mutual communication is the best way to eliminate prejudice", said the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Friendship Group for Africa and the Middle East countries, Božo Ljubić during today's meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to our country, Eid Mohammed Althakafijem. Accordingly, H.E. Eid Mohammed Althakafijem invited Dr. Ljubić to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Ljubić expressed his gratitude for their unconditional support, and announced that concrete proposals for economic co-operation between the two countries will soon follow. In addition, he said that "In Bosnia, a tolerance has to exist for the reality that we are a multi-ethnic, multi-religious community where different cultures exist, but also a shared identity experience." He stressed that the concern of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Muslims in the world is legitimate.

Dr. Ljubić emphasized that "Regardless of tragic events, in Bosnia and Herzegovina the experience of co-existence exists which gives us confidence that we can build this country and make it self-sustaining. However, the most important is to clearly express our identities and talk from that position."

Ambassador Mohammed Eid Althakafi stated that Muslims around the world, in prayers, five times a day, turn their faces in the direction of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. "We feel responsible for them, because after all, this is our obligation by the state Constitution", said Althakafi. (end)
