Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH Boško Šiljegović met with representatives of the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector of Norway

Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Bosnia and Herzegovina Boško Šiljegović, together with staff and officials from the Office of the Secretary of the Joint Committee on Defence and Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met today in Sarajevo with representatives of the Norwegian Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector, which is implementing a project in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region named “Good Governance and Integrity in the Defence and Security Sector.”

The Integrity Building Support Project in the Ministry of Defence of BiH is a project financed and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, with the aim of assisting institutions in strengthening integrity, human resources management and training of personnel.

During the meeting with Davorin Pavelić and Jon Kværne from the Norwegian Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector, experiences and observations were exchanged on building integrity within institutions in the defence and security sector, on the effects of parliamentary oversight, and on the protection of human rights of members of the BiH Armed Forces.

It was noted that the Ministry of Defence of BiH, as part of its activities to build integrity in the defence sector, has done significant work in the past period. The Norwegian guests were also made aware of the fact that the Ministry had submitted its action plans and results in building integrity to the BiH Joint Committee on Defence and Security and the BiH Office of the Parliamentary Military Commissioner, which made these activities and the process of building integrity transparent.
