Chair of the Bosniak People's Caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, received the special envoy of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Western Balkans

“Chair of the Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, received the special envoy of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin. They discussed the current political and overall social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Džaferović said that the only way for Bosnia and Herzegovina is to respect the Constitution of BiH, the law, and progress on the European and NATO path through fulfilling the remaining obligations in connection with the 14 priorities of the European Commission, the recommended tasks after the granting of candidate status to BiH and the Reform Program.

Džaferović underlined the exceptional importance of the fact that in the previous mandate, Bosnia and Herzegovina officially chose the Berlin Process, i.e., the Common Regional Market, as a framework for regional economic cooperation, based on documents from the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Sofia and relevant decisions of the BiH Presidency.

When it comes to the current situation regarding the formation of the government in the Federation, Džaferović pointed out that the only possible solution is to adhere to the FBiH Constitution, and that in this sense there can be no dilemma, and the constitutional obligation is that the condition for the formation of the FBiH Government is to find a compromise between the president and two vice-presidents of FBiH.

Džaferović emphasized that it is inadmissible at this moment for the High Representative to make additional interventions that would bypass the will of Bosniak representatives in the FBiH leadership." (Statement from the Bosniak People's Caucus of the House of Peoples)
