Delegation of the BiH PA met with the Heads of PA NATO

 
On the side lines of the 82nd Rose Roth Seminar held in Morocco, members of the permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (PA NATO), Dr. Milorad Živković and Asim Sarajlić, met with the Secretary General of the PA NATO, Hugh Bayley and the Secretary General of the PA NATO International Secretariat, David Hobbs. On that occasion, Messrs Bayley and Hobbs expressed their satisfaction with the co-operation between our delegation and the PA NATO, especially regarding activities carried out in South-East Europe.

On the first day of the Seminar, the Speakers of both Houses of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco, Karim Ghellab and Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, alongside Hugh Bayley, addressed the participants of this large meeting, during which the state of North African and Middle East countries was discussed. They emphasized that co-operation between the countries of that region and the member states of NATO and the EU is necessary and unquestionable. It was also stressed that Euro-Mediterranean and Trans-Atlantic security is a necessity, and the only possible response to numerous challenges to security. Thus, it is of utmost importance to respond jointly to terrorism as a global challenge.

During the rest of the Seminar, it was anticipated that discussions would be held on how the experiences of South-East European countries could be beneficial for the process of transition of North African and Middle Eastern countries. (end)
