Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's 59th Annual Session

Chair of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Dr. Milorad Živković, and a Delegation member, Mr Asim Sarajlić, participated in the second plenary sitting of the NATO PA’s 59th annual session in Dubrovnik, Republic of Croatia.

At the plenary sitting and Committee sessions, the current situation in Syria was discussed, as well the situation in North African, Middle Eastern and Western Balkan countries, and the ISAF Mission. Upon discussion of the current situation in the Western Balkan countries, presented by Witold Waszczykowski, a Special Rapporteur from Poland, the Resolution of the NATO PA on Furthering Stability and Euro-Atlantic Prospects of the Western Balkans countries was adopted. The Resolution reiterates a firm commitment to NATO’s “Open Door” policy regarding accession to NATO. In addition, the Resolution urges the governments and parliaments of the North Atlantic Alliance and the EU to re-affirm their commitment to the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the Western Balkans, to continue to provide incentives for further efforts toward domestic reforms, and to improve relations with neighbours.

The Council of Ministers of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH were urged to reach an agreement on meaningful constitutional reform and to promptly resolve the issue of immovable defence property. (end)
