Speaker of the House of Peoples, Ognjen Tadić, talked with the OSCE Delegation

Ognjen Tadić, Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, met today with the Delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which consisted of, Ambassador Andreas Nothelle, a Special Representative of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE in Vienna; Mr Roberto Battelli, a Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on South-East Europe; and Ambassador Fletcher Burton, Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH.

The guests were interested in implementation of the ruling of the European Court on Human Rights in the case of Sejdic-Finci vs. BiH, including the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mr Tadić, outlined the current situation, highlighting that the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has a limited role in the negotiation process related to implementation of the ruling of the European Court on Human Rights, i.e. constitutional changes. An agreement is to be reached by negotiations among political leaders, and this concept is accepted by the European Commission.

Mr Tadić stated “The political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is burdened with trust issues, which may lead to other issues. Therefore, we have to face reality, take responsibility and offer realistic solutions, not fictions - which will be rejected, and will waste our time in the end.’’ He added that insistently focusing on political issues, and neglecting other relevant issues, will create a very bad environment. Economic issues will not be solved, even though they should be first on the agenda. (end)
