Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Šefik Džaferović spoke with the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning and Head of the State Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia

The friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Indonesia in the forthcoming period should be strengthened by stronger economic cooperation and increased trade exchange, since the geographical distance should not and cannot be an obstacle to the improvement of relations between the two countries. This was highlighted today during the meeting of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, with the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning and Head of the State Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Sofyan Jalil.

Thanking Indonesia for overall assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the process of stabilisation of situation as well as for concrete support, Mr. Džaferović pointed out that the trade of goods between the two countries is not at a satisfactory level and that there are many opportunities for strengthening of relations, especially in the field of agriculture and wood industry.

The interlocutors noted the existence of all factors that are required for political, cultural and economic cooperation, as well as the investment of Indonesia in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was emphasised that the tourism, being one of the great potentials, should be given special attention and one of the first steps is the liberalization of the visa regime.

The improvement of parliamentary cooperation was also discussed at the meeting, both at the level of groups of friendships and at the level of more intensive communication between the management of parliaments. (End)
