Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, speaks with the Delegation of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs



Deputy Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović spoke today in Sarajevo with the Delegation of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Secretary General of the Ministry, Ambassador Michael Linhart, about current political situation in our country and meeting the requirements for submission of a credible application of Bosnia and Herzegovina for EU candidate status.

Mr. Džaferović told the guests from Austria that our country, after several years of standstill, has advanced in the European integration process and now is on its way to meet the requirements very soon for the submission of a credible application for EU candidate status. In this regard it is said that Austria strongly supports the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expresses readiness to assist the country in implementation of reforms and acquirement of the EU membership candidate status.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Martin Pammer, the fight against terrorism was also discussed. Mr. Džaferović pointed out that terrorism is a global evil against which entire world must unite, and added that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a member of the international coalition, contributes and will contribute in the future to the fight against terrorism.

Commenting on the status of bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria, it was jointly stated that relations at a high level. Both sides expressed the wish to strengthen these relations at all levels, especially in the field of cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Parliament of Austria.
