Working meeting held with members of Friendship Group of the Parliament of Kuwait

 
The Deputy Speaker of the BiH PA House of Representatives, Dr. Božo Ljubić, and a Delegate in the BiH House of Peoples, Mr Halid Genjac, spoke today with the members of Friendship Group of the Parliament of Kuwait, led by the Chairperson of Friendship Group, Mr Saud Neshmi Al Houraiji.

Dr. Božo Ljubić expressed his gratitude for the generous help and support from Kuwait to BiH after the recent catastrophic floods. He moreover stressed that BiH could have huge potential for Kuwaiti investments, as BiH is Europe's eighth hydropower potential country, with only 30% of hydropower resources used so far. A hydropower field thus provides enormous opportunities for investments. Mr Ljubić also pointed out that BiH has vast experience in industry and one of its key resources is its many hard-working, educated people.

The Chairperson of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Kuwait, Mr Saud Neshmi Al Houraiji emphasized that Kuwait has large projects viable for BiH’s involvement; he invited BiH construction firms to present themselves and join the project of building of 100,000 houses for Kuwaiti families.The project is worth an estimated 35 billion KM.

Mr. Genjac stressed that the tourism industry holds huge potential for strengthening links between the two countries, and their co-operation must be continued in the future. The latest number of 30,000 tourists from Kuwait who visited BiH, is onl expected to increase. Mr. Genjac also expressed his satisfaction with the current focus of relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kuwait – namely, economy and investments in energetics and infrastructure.

During the meeting, the two delegations spoke about resolving an issue of ownership rights of Kuwaiti citizens in BiH, co-ordination between the two parliaments, and co-ordination in education, including student exchange programs. (end)
