Chair of the Joint Committee on Economic Reforms and Development, Danijela Martinović spoke with the executive director of the World Bank

 
Chair of the Joint Committee on Economic Reforms and Development of BiH PA, Danijela Martinović and her deputy Seudin Hodžić spoke today with the Executive Director of the World Bank, Frank Heemskerk and his associates on ways to further help and support international financial institutions in BiH dealing with the consequences of catastrophic floods.

While stressing the willingness of the World Bank to continue to support BiH and to establish contacts with international donors and potential investors, Mr. Heemskerk stated that it is important for BiH to implement necessary reforms in business and environment, ahead of the donor conference on post-flood recovery.

Ms. Martinović thanked the World Bank representatives for their support, especially in lending to small and medium-sized enterprises. She further pointed out that, in the last year, important efforts have been made in BiH to facilitate the procedures for business entrepreneurship and efficiency the private sector.

Ms. Martinović expressed her hope that the upcoming international donor conference will be successful for BiH; that the money raised will be used to repair homes and infrastructure, as well as to aid to the recovery of commercial enterprises in order to not lose but grow jobs.

At the end of the meeting, the Executive Director of the World Bank urged BiH parliamentarians to participate in regular annual meetings of members of parliaments from around the world, to share useful information on best practices and reforms. (End)
