The Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the second regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

 
The Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), represented by Milica Marković, Borjana Krišto, Saša Magazinović and Senad Šepić, will participate in the second round of regular sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which takes place in Strasbourg from 23-27 April 2012. Božo Ljubić, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, will attend as a guest to mark the 10 year anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership of the Council of Europe.

At the beginning of the regular session, the Vice-Presidents of the Assembly from Luxembourg and Spain will be elected and changes to the membership of the Committees of the PACE will be made.

As announced, during the five-day session, the following topics will be discussed: "Lives lost in the Mediterranean Sea: Who is responsible?", "Gender equality: A condition for the success of the Arab Spring", " The promotion of active citizenship in Europe ", "Good governance and ethics in sport", "The need to combat the fixing of match results", "The protection of freedom of expression and information on the Internet and online media", "The situation of Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees in the North Caucasus region", "Monitoring of the Committee of Ministers on the work of the PACE's", "Promoting an appropriate policy on tax havens" and "Decent pensions for all".

Also, in addition to the election of a judge to the European Court of Human Rights from Belgium, it was planned to share opinions on topics "The situation in Syria" and "The future of the European Court of Human Rights, the Brighton Declaration.”

Also, Zlatko Lagumdžija, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will address participants, to mark the 10th anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the Council of Europe. (end)
