Member of the House of Representatives Jasmin Emrić at the SAA Subcommittee meeting on Justice, Freedom and Security established between the EU and BiH in Brussels

Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chair of the Committee for Deciding on Conflict of Interest in the Institutions of the BiH Authorities, Jasmin Emrić, will participate, as a member of the Delegation of BiH, in the work of the 2nd SAA Subcommittee meeting on Justice, Freedom and Security between the European Union (EU) and BiH, which will be held on 30 November and 1 December in Brussels.

The agenda of the 2nd meeting of this Subcommittee schedules a debate on the functioning of the judiciary, with special emphasis on issues of independence, impartiality and professionalism in the procedures for appointment of prosecutors and judges, as well as the responsibilities, efficiency and quality of the judiciary.

Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters will also be discussed at the meeting in Brussels, as well as the fight against money laundering and the implementation of the National War Crimes Strategy.

EU representatives will also discuss the policy of combating corruption, organized crime, as well as issues of asset confiscation, the fight against cybercrime and arms trade.

The topics of the Brussels meeting will also include the fight against terrorism, as well as the issue of border management and visa policy and the post- visa liberalization monitoring.

As announced, there will be discussion on the promotion and implementation of human rights, the prohibition of discrimination, the rights of women and gender equality, the provision of free legal assistance and freedom of expression, with a focus on the issue of ensuring the protection of journalists and the current situation regarding the reform of the Public Broadcasting System , the adoption of legislation on the transparency of media ownership and the application of the Freedom of Access to Information Act.
