Speaker of the House of Peoples, Bariša Čolak, and his Deputy, Ognjen Tadić, at the 18th session of the Association of European Senates

The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Bariša Čolak, and his Deputy, Ognjen Tadić, will participate at the 18th session of the Association of European Senates, which will be held in Slovenia, on 1st and 2nd June of this year in Brdo near Kranj.

At this session, which will be split in two sessions, the representatives of the leaderships of the 15 European Senates will discuss the need and the possibility for establishing a European Union’s Parliament with two chambers. The Speaker of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia Mitja Bervar, on behalf of the host, and the Presidents of the Czech Senate, Milan Štech, and of the Dutch Senate, Ankie Broekers-Knol, will speak about the possible setting up of the European Senate, as the highest legislative body which would bring the EU closer to the citizens.

It is foreseen that the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PABiH Bariša Čolak had his address during the second session, which, as announced by the organizers, will be devoted to the possible reforms of the European senates, with the aim of adapting and facing the upper parliamentary chambers to the challenges of today.
